Bloomberg.com: Culture

A rare 1904 photograph of a moonlit pond by pioneering photographer Edward Steichen sold tonight for $2.9 million at Sotheby's Holdings Inc. in New York. The price sets a record for the most expensive photo ever sold at auction.
